Auditions and interviews will take place at Richmond. The audition consists of the performance of two contrasting pieces from printed scripts, each lasting about two minutes. One piece should be from a play by Shakespeare or another Elizabethan / Jacobean playwright, the other from a post – 1945 text. Pieces must be learned and properly presented. Overseas candidates will be allowed to submit audition speeches in recorded audio-visual formats.
After speeches have been presented there may be some practical work on one or both of them. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and the whole process might last an hour. Because of Government regulations, some applicants will be required to take additionally an on-line Literacy and Numeracy test, lasting 90 minutes approximately.
